Coffee, Tea or Liver Problems; Study Finds That Coffee Reduces The Risk Of Chronic Liver Problems
by: Askme Blax
The link between the diet and the liver has long been studied by the American Liver Foundation and other organizations. Research in this area is important because it could help reduce the suffering and economic burden posed by liver diseases. New research suggests that caffeine, found in both coffee and tea, is a practical way to reduce the risks of developing chronic liver problems.
The liver, the largest organ in the body, plays a vital role of performing many complex functions which are essential for life. Since 85-90% of the blood that leaves the stomach and intestines is filtered through the liver, the liver is responsible for converting the food we eat into stored energy, and chemicals necessary for life and growth. Additionally, the liver acts as the filter to remove alcohol and toxic substances from the blood by converting them to substances that can be excreted from the body. The liver processes drugs and medications absorbed from the digestive system which enables the use of the medication by our bodies. The liver also manufactures and exports important body chemicals used by the body, such as bile, which is a substance used by our bodies to digest fats in the small intestine. Introduction To Cocaine Addiction
January 30, 2010
Coke, more commonly known as cocaine is a highly addictive stimulant which instantly affects the brain after introducing it to the body. The effects of this drug are extremely pleasurable and give a false sense of euphria. Like caffiene, coke makes the user feel awake, and energized. Cocaine addict’s usually experience a sense of well being and feel ‘powerful’, combined with restlessness and anxiety. When the effects of cocaine wear off the user will ‘crash’, become depressed, and crave another ‘hit’ or ‘wack’. Cocaine addiction is hard to beat, because of the great length’s the user will go to get the drug. Some will even neglect their job, family and loved ones, in order to satisfy their craving for cocaine. This is one of the reasons why cocaine addiction is considered so harsh. It effects the user as well as everyone around him or her.
Signs of cocaine abuse include: change in mood, appitite and sleep cycles, depression, absence at work and home, running/ sniffly nose, new group of friends and a drop in school grades. Loss of interest in hobbys and other activities are also common signs of cocaine usage. Teenagers may also have a frequent need for money, without a good reason. Confronting the suspected user is the best solution. Cocaine addiction’s should not go overlooked and should be treated ASAP. Long term effects of cocaine include: irritability, mood swings, restlessness, paranoya, possible auditory hallucinations and the number one long-term effect is addiction to the substance itself.

How Not Tracking Your Results Could Be The Road To Nowhere
by: Oliver Wolter
Dear friend,
Many times in the past I got emails like this:
“Hi Oliver,
I just started with my fat loss diet a few weeks ago, but it
seems that since 2 weeks I am not losing any further weight -
what can I do?”
STOP
What does it mean to lose weight?
What is this weight?
Water - muscles or fat?
And the letter goes on
“It seems I started losing muscles as well, because I already
lost ˝ inch on my arms”
Again - What is this weight?
Water - muscles or fat?
Probably you will think “is he unable to read? - he lost ˝ inch
on his arms - so it must be muscles”.
But this is not the truth. It can be muscles, but it can be fat
or water as well.
Weight and inches are not the same as muscles
Wow - bold statement but this is the god honest truth. Or would

Why A Positive Attitude Helps In Coping With Arthritis Pain - Part 1

Why A Positive Attitude Helps In Coping With Arthritis Pain - Part 1
Think Positive To Relieve Arthritis Pain.
My name is Cathy Posner and I live in Wauchope which is on
the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, Australia. I was
born in 1957 and in late 2004 was told that the aches in my
joints were Rheumatoid Arthritis.
My husband, Ray has a very positive approach to everything
and I guess that has rubbed off on me, so rather than sit
back and let things progress I decided to see what I could
do for myself.
Let me give you an example of Ray’s positive attitude. In
September 2003 he had to have open heart surgery to replace
his aortic valve. We live on 160 acres so before he went
into hospital he slashed a walking track so that he could
regularly exercise when he came out of hospital.
Can Exercise Harm You?

Can Exercise Harm You?
by: Indy Stewart
When you exercise, your brain releases chemicals called endorphins that produce a feeling of euphoria - the so called “runner’s high” that people can become chemically addicted to.
Without it, you feel irritable and out of sorts till you exercise again. So you go on exercising, never stopping to listen to what you body is saying. And what its saying is, “Stop.”
The reason exercise addicts keep pushing themselves probably lies in what happens when they don’t work out. Psychologists at the University of Massachusetts at Boston studied the psychological consequences of being unable to exercise. They compared 30 male and female runners who had been laid low by minor injuries for at least two weeks, with a similar group who continued to run. Those who could not run displayed more signs of depression, anxiety and confusion, and they were far less happy with themselves and their bodies. Like other addictions, exercise, they say, appears to have withdrawal symptoms.
Of aches and pains
Over indulgence doesn’t harm only the mind, but the body as well. Initially, the exercise will do what it’s supposed to, give you a fit body but once you cross the line, it can get lethal. Muscle damage, osteoarthritis, heart problems they’re all waiting to make an appearance.
Diabetic Complications - Can Benfotiamine Help Prevent Them?
January 27, 2010
Diabetic complications contribute too many life threatening diseases globally. The root cause of diabetic complications is elevated glucose levels which contribute to blood vessel damage. Diabetic retinopathy, nephropathy, or neuropathy are caused by damage to small blood vessel in the eyes, nerves and kidneys, etc. The bottom line of this damage is the lowering of the life expectancy of millions of diabetics worldwide.
What Can Be Done About It?
Few therapies are available today that treat diabetic complications. Most healthcare professionals recommend that their patients monitor their blood sugar by taking several blood readings a day to determine the amount of sugar in their blood. Blood sugar readings are generally higher from one to two hours after a meal.
It is suggested by these professionals that keeping blood sugar readings as close to normal as possible will reduce the onset of diabetic complications. Research has shown that there are four, chemical pathways that lead to diabetic complications. Instead of trying to explain these rather difficult chemical pathways, let the reader understand that diabetic complications are mainly caused by excess sugar in the cells, a condition known by the term advanced glycation endproducts (AGE) formation.

A Primer On Finding & Selecting Medical Insurance
by: Joe Leech
At one time, only a few such as the self employed really had
to know much about selecting medical insurance because for
many years, the majority of the working population was
working in “employee” status and Medical Insurance was a
company benefit, and one that had very few choices involved.
Today that benefit is either disappearing or being offered
with choices ranging from family plan to PPO to HMO to no
participation; choices also include the amount of payroll
deduction based on plan choice, and it’s a complex situation
to decide.. does one opt for the plan with a $500
person/$1000 max deductible which has virtually no payroll
deduction, or the plan with the $250/500 but with a $25 per
month deduction. Of course those figures are arbitrary for
the purpose of the article and cited only as examples.
But there are choices that can and need to be made.. in
fact, some times those choices now come down to “where can I
get my own insurance… period?” as so many companies have

Close Kept Secrets to Weight Loss Lesson #25
by: Tami Close
Hello Magnanimous You!
Isn’t magnanimous an incredible word? It’s a four syllable wordWHEW! That’s who you are! How could you not be since you are made perfect as a child of God?
WOW! Each day keeps getting better and better, doesn’t it? Imagine over the course of the last few months how your life has changed. You’re becoming more and more aware of the daily focus on you that is required for your life to be vibrant.
What happens when you give to yourself? You become more connected to God. Giving to yourself is the key to receiving everything that you intend to attract. In Conversations with God, Neale Donald Walsh mentions that it is truly about Self. Who are you being in every moment? Did you know Neale Donald Walsh used to be homeless? Now look where he is. He has learned to give to himself and let the abundance flow to him.
What happens when you give to everyone else and leave yourself last? You become disconnected to God. You’re running around ragged and wonder why you’re so exhausted. Can you really be loving towards your family when you’re so run down?
The Secrets of the Centenarians: How to Live to 100!
January 24, 2010
When Helen Boardman was still a girlish 99, she fell in love again–with a younger man.
"I robbed the cradle," laughs the trim centenarian, who married a man twenty years her junior for "companionship," she says slyly. "Bill was lonesome—I wasn’t!–but I enjoyed his company and we had the same interests. So we fell in love."
It didn’t hurt that Bill Boardman had the same last name.
"That was a coincidence,"adds Bill. "She kept getting my checks, I got her bills, so out of necessity, we had to get married!"
Nowadays, the twosome often perform together in plays at Friendship Village, an independent living facility outside of Chicago where they share a one-bedroom apartment. Helen writes, directs, and stars in the productions.
"I don’t get nervous…I’m over all that," she shrugs nonchalantly.
She’s 107. He’s 86.
Still romance after eight years? "A little," Helen laughs, "when he’s real nice to me, which is most of the time. He’s a good guy."
"To be perfectly frank, " notes Bill, "Helen doesn’t seem 20 years older at all. She’s never acted like an old lady. Last New Year’s Eve, we stayed up until midnight dancing. I think she’s maintained her youth quite well!"
So You Think You?re Pregnant? A Brief Discussion Of Common Pregnancy Symptoms
January 24, 2010
A baby begins life even before he is born ? from conception until the uterus finally pushes him out of his mother’s body. This is the phenomenon we call pregnancy. It starts when the male sperm unites with the female egg and develops into an embryo. While several women say they can already detect pregnancy from the moment of conception, some see the pregnancy symptoms much later.
As the woman’s body prepares itself for child-bearing, she will notice several changes. The telltale signs of pregnancy include the following:
Absence of menstruation
This is usually the first sign of pregnancy. Take note, though, that it should not always be linked with pregnancy symptoms, as missing your monthly period can also mean some other kind of hormonal imbalance or condition.
Morning sickness
It would be prudent to note that the pregnancy symptom called "morning sickness" does not happen only in the mornings. This feeling of dizziness can happen at any time of the day. The hormonal changes occurring during pregnancy generally trigger bouts of nausea and vomiting. Another related symptom would be constant tiredness, which a possibly pregnant woman experiences even if no physical activity had been performed (but, then, again, it could also be due to improper nutrition).
