The Tibetan and Chinese health Secret: If you read one health report a year, this should be it!
July 14, 2007
It seems as if the health of America is failing. One million Americans will die of circulatory disease this year. Six hundred thousand lives will be cut short by cancer as well. How did we get in such a mess? I’m not sure. But there is a way out that is starting to generate a real buzz! Since CNN and the gang won’t talk about it I decided to write is article.
Dear readers, I want to introduce you to the most nutrient dense food on the earth; wolfberries, or more specifically Lycium Barbarum.
The western scientific community have verified what Chinese and Tibetan health practitioners have known for thousands of years. Wolfberries are the healthiest known food on our planet. In this report I will be talking specifically about wolfberries. In my research on the subject I found that not all wolfberries are created equal. The three most potent berries in the wolfberry family are Tibetan Goji berries, Chinese Xinjiang wolfberries and Chinese Ningxia wolfberries which all belong to the Lycium genus.

Summer’s Coming - How Does Your Face Look?
by: Cynthia Rowland
Strappy sandals with colorful toe nails, tan limbs, easy-breezy haircuts, aromatic suntan lotions and wild-patterned beachwear. Ahhhh, summer!
There’s a lot of preparation that goes into getting ready for summer. Many people begin working out months in advance with a vengeance so they can sport toned, washboard abs, tighter thighs and hips and shapely arms. They carefully shop for the perfect outfits, shoes, bathing suits and revealing togs to compliment the newly sleek physique.
Getting ready for fun in the sun basically encompasses the region from the neck down to the toes and most people forget to include their faces in the regimen. Sure, they remember to slather on sun block, wear a hat and sunglasses, and are careful not to overexpose their bodies with too much sun but the fact remains that unattended faces can make one look older than their years.

Magic Diet Pill Coming?
by: Shawna Kaminski
Have you heard of the over the counter diet pill Orlistat? A joint FDA advisory committee voted 11-3 to recommend approval of this diet aid. The agency usually follows the recommendations of its outside panels of experts, but the final decision is still to come and could take months. In that time, people should consider the facts and their options regarding weight loss.
Orlistat is a fat blocking pill that will be obtained without a doctor’s prescription. Its action is to render 25% of one’s fat intake indigestible and therefore it is eliminated. Unfortunately, the ‘elimination’ of the undigested fat is somewhat unpleasant: oily, slick stools, diarrhea, and anal spotting. Does 25% less calorie digestion really sound worth it? Is this just another way for drug companies to make millions of dollars while taking advantage of people’s need to be slim? Is there really a magic formula to obtaining and maintaining a healthy weight?
Stress Relief Part 1: The Two Biggest Stresses in YOUR Life

Stress Relief Part 1: The Two Biggest Stresses in YOUR Life
by: Dr Graeme Teague
There are two stresses in your life, which if you change can improve your health, energy, stress levels and longevity.
They are very easy to change. It is just a matter of knowing what your two biggest stresses are.
Firstly, defining stress helps you understand why these stresses are so important. Stress is “anything you expend energy on”
Yes, simple as that. Stress is any task you expend energy on. There is good stress and bad stress. All stress requires energy to deal with it.
The biggest stresses use up more energy. Energy that must come from somewhere. Energy that depletes functions in the body, which can lead to poor health, low energy levels and a shorter life span.
If these two stresses are not dealt with, you are losing energy faster than you should. Energy that is used to support your body and allow you to live longer.
Changing these stresses, returns energy to you. This in turn will improve your health, day to day energy levels, help you deal with other stresses easier, and allow you to live longer and happier.

Narcolepsy Treatments
by: Sandra K Adams
Most commonly, Narcolepsy presents itself as an illness called EDS - Excessive Daytime Sleepiness. This is the persistent feeling being tired, lacking real energy and wanting to sleep. The sufferer has to make concerted efforts to remain awake, but even if he or she is able to do so, it is often only to achieve a semi-wakeful state that onlookers often describe as ‘trance like’ or as if the individual is ‘on auto pilot’. At unfortunate moments, the feeling can be so strong that it appears to anyone looking on that the sufferer may be drunk.
Typically, people suffering from Narcolepsy and Excessive Daytime Sleepiness need to have a period of sleep before attempting and specific task. Failing to prepare in this manner can result in a sudden attack of sleep while performing said task. EDS is regularly treated with stimulants, such as Ritalin, in America. This drug helps to stimulate the central nervous system to keep the individual alert and awake. Other newer drugs are in development that work as similar ‘wake promoters’.
Blueberry Picking Techniques
July 10, 2007
First of all you have to have a bucket. You will soon want to have a few with you as the berries are so good that you never get enough, especially when you start freezing them, cooking them for jams and sauces or, my favorite, putting them in the blender with various things for a morning liquid breakfast and treat. Anyway, even if your first intention is to just get enough for your breakfast cereal, you will likely get carried away and want more and more and more. We all do!
There are all sorts of bucket carry methods. Some have replaced the bail of the pail with a strap and hooks so they can sling it around their neck, over their shoulder or even around their waist. You can get an adjustable luggage strap, with a heavy shoulder pad and non-slip grip, from the luggage store. It already has the end hooks, which can be attached to the pail, and such a strap can be had about twelve bucks. Just take off the bail and figure a way to attach the hooks to the pail. You can experiment with all sorts of carry arrangements.
Exercise As A Power Source

Exercise As A Power Source
by: Dr. Fit, Sidney E. Reeves, CFT
These days it is so hard to make it the gym. Life is very busy which creates a serious challenge for being consistent with exercise each week. However, exercise is exactly what we need in order to reduce stress, increase longevity, and give the body extra energy for daily living.
The best results are achieved using refined techniques, functional exercises, cardio, proper nutrition, awareness, variety, consistency, supplementation and motivation over time!
Refined technique means correct form to isolate muscles or “target areas of the body.” Efficiency is the priority to ensure maximal muscle stimulation. With resistance training, also known as weight lifting, it is important to eliminate momentum. It is also necessary to move the weight through a full range of motion. This will cause muscle contraction for the correct amount of time and ensure appropriate length of the tendons. The goal is to strengthen the joints of the body by stimulating the muscles around it.
Supplementation Is No Longer An Option

Supplementation Is No Longer An Option
by: Alex Gomez
Supplementation is no longer an option if your objective is a healthier life. Many health advisors try to tell their clients that they only need a “well balanced” diet to meet these recommendations. However if you do some careful thinking you will find the task very difficult. Taking care of ourselves has become even more important especially if you consider what we have done to the health of the planet and out bodies. We continuously intake less and less healthy foods with more and more chemicals that can only do damage to an already overwhelmed system. Our bodies can only take so much before something gives and unfortunately we are only getting worst. Taking supplements are not the answer in and of itself but it is an important step forward.
WHY SUPPLEMENT?
1. In the early 1900’s, all produce (100%) was organic. Rutgers University has published several papers comparing the nutrient density of organic produce and commercially grown produce. Organic always wins.
Pregnancy, Diabetes, and Your Feet
July 8, 2007
There are so many changes the body undergoes during pregnancy that it becomes easy to ignore the changes in the feet. During pregnancy the body releases hormones that allow the ligaments to relax in the birth canal. The ligaments in the feet also relax, causing the foot to lengthen and widen. Many will complain of a shoe size increase by one or two sizes. In most circumstances, this flattening and widening of the foot is benign and no problems result.
In the diabetic, this change in foot size is important to recognize. Despite the increase in foot size, many moms will continue to wear the same size shoes. As a diabetic, properly fitting shoes are of utmost importance. Increased pressure on the foot can cause areas of rub or irritation and potentially result in ulceration. Once there is an ulceration, one is at risk for infection, delayed healing and further diabetic foot complications.
Diabetic neuropathy is the single greatest risk factor for developing foot ulcerations. Neuropathy is the loss of sensation in the feet commonly caused by diabetes. Many individuals will develop neuropathy before they are diagnosed with diabetes. Others will develop neuropathy years after being diagnosed with diabetes. Luckily, gestational diabetes is not typically associated with neuropathy.
Treating ADD With Alternative Medicine

Treating ADD With Alternative Medicine
by: Sarah Jenkins
Alternative medicine is a practice which people either live by or laugh at; there does not seem to be any middle ground. When it comes to treating Attention Deficit Disorder, alternative medicine refers to any treatment technique which falls outside the realm of standard behavioral treatments and medication.
Dietary intervention is one such treatment in which certain foods are eliminated from a child’s diet to reduce or eliminate the negative effects of ADD. This is based on the misguided belief that ADD is caused by food allergies or certain manufactured products, such as food dye or preservatives. While many people strongly trust this belief, there does not seem to be any scientific foundation for it.
Another alternative treatment is the taking of nutritional supplements, which, of course, is the opposite principle of dietary intervention. Specifically, the use of glyconutritional supplements, megadose vitamins, amino acid supplementation, Gingko biloba, or any number of other herbal remedies have been touted to cure ADD. Special care should be taken in consuming herbal remedies as they are not regulated by the FDA. Children are also especially susceptible to negative effects of such supplements. Seek the advice of a doctor before giving any type of medication to your child.
